      Grasses from the dam

      The grasses in the dam are also looking quite spectacular. Lots of ryegrass (and brome), but also some grasses we don't see - some sort of Poa spp, and a phalaris:

      Pond plant flowers

      Some of the plants in the pond are flowering (sedges and rushes) and have amazing flowers. Photos below are the flowering spikes of 'water ribbons' Triglochin procera R. Br. from the Juncaginacaeae family:
