From the eggs came tadpoles - and some ups and downs. Photos from the dam and pond (further below). As of September 27th there were some small tadpoles in the dam but not sure whether the large ones survived.
We have returned the 'rescued' tadpoles to the dam (saved some as pets) and are hoping for the best. The odd small tadpole can now be seen swimming in the pond.

October 4, 2008. The second generation pond tadpoles are free from the egg mass already. The pond tadpoles rescued from the dam have makeshift accommodation in a modified 20l glyphosate container.

September 26. A 30C day predicted, the dam has dried out, and not sure what the future is for these... The tadpoles have found the lowest parts of the dam and are hoping for the best!

September 25. These tadpoles have come back to life. September 25. Returned home after a few days away to find the dam dry. These were in a handful of muck in one of the low points of the dam. Plenty of mosquito larvae too, and not all tadpoles were alive.
